Job Summary

ICL and Cerba Lancet Africa are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Officer to support the implementation and maintenance of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, ISO standards, and industry-specific guidelines. The role will also focus on infection prevention and control, staff health and safety, biosafety practices, risk reduction, and the implementation of corrective actions to maintain a safe and quality-focused working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with ICL and Cerba Lancet Africa company policies and procedures.
• Follow health, quality, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements established by government bodies and industry-specific guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including ISO requirements.
• Promote and drive ICL and Cerba Lancet Africa values.
• Identify significant infections and high-risk staff to implement staff vaccination programmes.
• Provide evaluation, counselling, and follow-up to exposed staff.
• Define processes for reducing infection risks and ensure laboratory-acquired infection reporting.
• Review biosafety rules for relevant practices and initiate corrective actions for unsafe practices or accidents.

Qualifications and Experience

• Two to five years of experience working in a technical area.
• Expert-level Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
