The Sales Accountant serves as the financial control and revenue assurance lead for sales operations. The role is responsible for overseeing sales documentation, pre-approval audits, SAP sales order processing, credit limit verification, reserve invoicing, statutory ETR/SRM tax compliance, timely delivery-to-invoice processing, record archiving, order reconciliation, and periodic financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Audit sales order submissions for completeness, including signed Pro Forma Invoices (PFIs), Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), receipts, bank confirmation of funds, contracts, and weighbridge slips.
Verify customer names, codes, pricing, payment allocations, and required documentation before processing sales orders.
Verify customer credit limits, outstanding balances, and required approval sign-offs for credit sales and contract-based transactions.
Issue reserve invoices upon payment confirmation, allocate payments to the correct customer codes, monitor the 45-day validity period, and notify clients of price differences exceeding ETB 5.
Track daily SAP delivery documents and ensure all deliveries are invoiced within 24 hours or by 9:00 AM the following day.
Ensure ETR/SRM tax receipts and supporting documentation are generated, verified, and transmitted immediately after invoice issuance.
Maintain secure physical and digital archives of signed PFIs, sales contracts, weighbridge slips, delivery notes, and bank deposit slips.
Perform payment-order-weight reconciliations, close completed or expired sales orders, and conduct monthly customer ledger reconciliations.
Prepare periodic financial, revenue, and audit reports.
Perform other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales accounting, financial control, or revenue assurance.
Experience in the steel industry or a manufacturing environment with high sales turnover is highly preferred.
Must have steel industry background.
Technical Skills
Expert proficiency in SAP ERP, particularly the SD and FI modules.
Knowledge of ETR/SRM tax integration systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong financial reconciliation, reporting, and documentation skills.
