Daye Bensa Business would like to hire a Senior Accountant On behalf of Ducamo coffee Hawasa.

Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month end and year end close processes. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior accounting staff while liaising with other departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards

• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals

• Manage accounts payable/receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing

• Support payroll-related accounting entries, including tax and pension deductions

• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (VAT, withholding tax, income tax) and coordinate with tax authorities as needed

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing schedules and supporting documentation

• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies

• Review and mentor junior accountants and bookkeeping staff

• Collaborate with Logistics, Import, and Coffee Sourcing teams on cost tracking and financial documentation

• Support system-related tasks (e.g., ERP/GOMA reporting) to ensure financial data accuracy

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA/CPA a plus)

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in trading, manufacturing, or export industries

• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax law and financial reporting standards

• Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• High level of integrity and attention to detail
