Dandii Boru PLC is looking for a highly competent, experienced, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate accounting and financial activities across the PLC’s sister companies and business units, including Dandii Boru School, Dandii Boru College, and Dandii Boru Guest House.
The Senior Accountant will ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, effective financial controls, tax compliance, and sound financial management across all entities.
Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day accounting activities of the PLC and its sister companies.
Maintain accurate and complete financial records for the School, College, Guest House, and other business units.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Review financial transactions, journal entries, payments, receipts, and supporting documents.
Manage and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts, cash, and general ledgers.
Monitor and reconcile inter-company transactions and balances between the PLC’s sister companies.
Prepare financial statements , have a good knowledge on posting ( peachtree)
Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
Ensure timely and accurate VAT, withholding tax, income tax, payroll tax, pension, and other statutory obligations.
Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, accounting standards, and the company’s financial policies and procedures.
Coordinate internal and external audits and provide the required financial documentation.
Monitor financial controls and identify risks, discrepancies, or weaknesses in accounting processes.
Review payroll-related accounting records and ensure proper recording of employee-related expenses.
Monitor fixed assets, inventory, income, expenses, and other financial resources of the different business units.
Supervise and provide guidance to accountants and other finance staff where applicable.
Establish and maintain proper accounting procedures and documentation across the group.
Prepare consolidated financial information for management of Dandii Boru PLC.
Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Accounting & Finance, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 4–6 years of relevant professional experience, with experience in a senior accounting position preferred.
Experience working with PLCs, multi-business organizations, or multiple branches/entities is highly advantageous.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with Peachtree/ERP accounting systems is an advantage.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism.
Ability to manage multiple entities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
Knowledge on implementation of IFRS
Having an exepriance in school industry is a plus.
