The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining proper financial controls, and supporting management in financial decision-making.

Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring that the company's financial transactions are accurately recorded, properly documented, and reported on time. The position requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, internal controls, and financial analysis.
The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, trustworthy, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced industrial/manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting and financial transactions.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper recording of all financial transactions.
- Review journal entries, payment requests, invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Perform regular bank, cash, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and management reports.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor company expenses and ensure proper authorization and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company financial policies.
- Support the preparation and submission of required tax reports and statutory financial documents.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required financial information and supporting documents.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Review inventory-related accounting records and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist management in analyzing costs, expenses, profitability, and financial performance.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain proper and organized financial records and documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in accounting.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, steel, construction, industrial, or related business environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of Ethiopian tax and financial regulations.
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to prepare financial analysis and reports.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Preference will be give to candidates with experience working in the industrial sector.
