Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate must have a strong accounting background and at least 4 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical import/export company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the organization's financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee the company's accounting records and financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate recording of import and export transactions.
- Prepare and file tax declarations in compliance with Ethiopian tax laws.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare financial reports for management.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years and more of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical import/export company.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards.
- Experience in import costing, inventory accounting, and foreign currency transactions is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
