Job Description

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Department: Technic

Location: Harar and Diredawa

Job Summary

Install, troubleshoot, repair, document and maintain components associated with medium and low voltage systems, directing the work of shift electricians and maintenance staff on projects and operation as part of a collaborative team to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation of new production machineries, LV distribution boards, motors, transformers, circuit breakers, contactors and other components

• Responsible for leading the troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility electrical equipment and components according to safety, productive maintenance systems and processes.

• Developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving electrical design plans and work schedules;

• Obtain Measurements and readings using mechanical and electrical testing instruments, including digital multimeters, meggers, amp meters, ohm meters and phase rotation meters

• Liaising with clients and other engineers to ensure projects are completed as per the specifications;

• Respond to emergency situations such as power outages in order to minimize or prevent loss of property

• Ensure the availability of electrical spare parts and consumables

• Train electricians and operators to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures

• Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled or required on electrical equipment as recommended by the manufacturer and on site safety programs

• Ensures all electrical works meets prescribed standards of quality and ensures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes

• Reads and interprets schematic and wiring diagrams and factory maintenance manuals.

• Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning electrical machineries and equipment throughout the production facility

Job Requirements

• Required Competencies:

• Have COC certification

• Able to troubleshoot PLC systems

• Hands on experience in installation of production machineries and equipments

• Hands on experience in plastic recycling electrical maintenance

• Planning and coordination

• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

• Good time-management skills

• MS office/Autocad

Qualification:

• TVET (10+4), diploma or above in industrial electricity, electronics or related field of study or

• BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

• 5+years in the manufacturing industry, out of which 2+ years experience as senior electrician

• Experience in plastic manufacturing is preferred.
