Duites  & Responsibilities:

  • Support in identifying process and efficiency improvement projects related to maintenance; works with customers to do the same.
  • Develops and propose project brief that includes the cost benefit analysis and related capex required.
  • Once approved, manages the execution of the projects.
  • Ensures projects are conducted as per company policy and procedure including procurement and AFCE. 
  • Write bid documents that outline scopes of work necessary to fully defining project requirements
  • Develop timelines and budgets for the equipment / facility projects.
  • Obtain bids, procure service and manage contract services needed for installation of new equipment and/or building improvements as well as relocating current equipment.
  • Delivers finished projects as designed on-time and on-budget with no safety or environmental issues.
  • Create layouts in cooperation with production Managers, operators and maintenance team members.
  • Develops design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans to insure operational needs are met including maintainability and reliability requirements.
  • Provide recommendations to capital improvement projects to ensure reliability and maintainability
  • Provides instruction to maintenance technicians in trouble shooting equipment.
  • Create drawings & specifications for part fabrication if not commercially available.
  • Prepare a parts replacement list for ordering parts or restocking of inventory.
  • Assist in ordering parts, materials and services within SAP system.
  • Define methods to perform preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Specify method to make various replacement parts, weld, solder, fit pipe, and fabricate sheet metal guards
  • Analyze machine problems by using troubleshooting techniques, repair manuals, drawings or manufacturers' specifications to determine logical approach to correct the problem and addressing root cause.
  • Provide expertise on troubleshooting Electrical Mechanics, Hydraulics and Fluid Systems
  • Apply knowledge of functional operation of electric units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction. Understand & apply PLC ladder logic.
  • Interpret prints and manufacturers' specifications.
  • Use hand tools and test instruments. Test electronic components and circuits to locate defects.
  • Provide instruction to replace defective components and wiring.
  • Train & direct Machine Maintenance Technicians on major installations and repairs as required.
  • Support and enhance PM Program.
  • Work with plant team to analyze loss data to identify underperforming assets
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations and to assist external auditors such as insurance companies, and / or other groups as required.
  • Lead efforts for plant loss mapping based on value stream mapping (details individual equipment processing rates and constraints)
  • Work with primary cross functional teams to identify, evaluate and implement design changes, asset strategies revisions and operating / maintenance procedure updates
  • Build and publish weekly and monthly reports commenting on the overall trends and progress of the asset activities
  • Apply FMEA in equipment and facilities risk assessments
  • Act as single point reliability contact, providing technical direction for cross function teams at the manufacturing site
  • Build strong positive relationships with diverse groups through day-to-day reliability plant support with a continuous focus on safe, reliable, and efficient operations
  • Provide strong technical leadership, expertise, and advice in support of facility operations with the goal of optimizing facility reliability through the application of PM and Pd.M. programs
  • Recommend maintenance/operating technologies, methodologies that improve reliability
  • Promote a proactive approach to minimize / eliminate failures by acquiring and analyzing failure data and predicting asset reliability with a goal to reduce maintenance related production losses
  • Promote the application of and facilitate root cause analysis across the facility based on our Global RCA triggers
  • Develop business justifications for resolution of equipment reliability problems
  • Collaborate with Project and Maintenance, providing technical guidance and support for new equipment commissioning
  • Lead the development of technical standards database and advocate the use of those standards as part of precision maintenance being executed by the plant maintenance teams
  • Propose changes to inspect equipment and facility through the PM Optimizing tool
  • Document technical memory methods, processes, and products
  • Monitor technical expertise
  • Train maintenance & reliability teams in new procedures / reliability tools when applicable
  • Responsible for repository of equipment life cycle cost data from design for reliability phase through decommissioning
  • Responsible for executing specific functional (lubrication, vibration, condition monitoring, etc.) program audits
  • Work with Maintenance heads and maintenance teams to understand the root cause and develop the solution and then support and work with Operations, Maintenance and Project to implement the solution
  • Evaluate the performance reports as part of asset management and monitor the main indicators of maintenance and reliability (KPIs)
  • Develop Equipment Strategy plans that may be plant specific or across the network, with the purpose of increasing reliability and availability
  • Ensure plant maintenance is carried out respecting safety rules and regulations
  • Enforce the use of PPE’s
  • Make sure “Safe Work Permit” is implemented whenever necessary
  • Proactively manage safety of contractors together with SHE Engineer and colleagues from other departments
  • Promote implementation of Accident Registration and Analysis when necessary and support the SHE Engineer during the investigation of the root causes for accidents
  • Make sure housekeeping is maintained to the highest standards

Qualification:

  • More than 5 years’ experience in a similar role within manufacturing, preferably food manufacturing /Soap and Detergent. 
  • Mechanical or electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent Degree
