Purpose of the Role: The business development manager will be responsible for finding and pursuing new business opportunities for a company. In addition to sales, BDMs collaborate with other teams in the organization, including sales, marketing and other operations. They work closely with especially sales and insight team where they will gather information from the market & share intelligence report. BDM is expected to create good information network from inside and outside the company to understand the game changing trends in the company and market.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct market survey and research to identify business opportunity
- Prepare standard to verify the viability of the prospect business
- Use the internal team build external network to gather information
- Conduct continuous market and business analysis
- Present the findings for approval
- Design implementation plan and track progress
- Design 3 year's vision & strategy for business development (Basket Size Vision)
- Identify sectors which could be compatible with our current FMCG business
- Develop annual growth strategy focused on maximum financial gain & customer satisfaction
- Align the plan with overall company vision and goal
- Benchmark other WILMAR businesses for better experience sharing
- Set annual financial and volume target by category
- Collaborate with sales team to push sales
- Provide different RTM structure for products according to their nature
- Track both primary and secondary sales
- Prepare monthly action plan to achieve assigned target
- Plan required manpower for the job and ensure fulfillment
- Manage your direct repots by putting clear KPI
- Engage with sales team to use available resources and networking
- Create and maintain partner relationship with distributors
- Maintain good relationship with key functions (SC, Marketing, Finance & Dist.)
- Plan annual and monthly sales target and action plan
- Plan daily, weekly and monthly activities for time management
- Conduct weekly review meeting with team & distributors
- Ensure report submission based on timeline
- Conduct weekly review meeting with team & distributors
- Managing e-mails and other communication mediums (telegram)
- Balance time spent between market and office
- Review performance of the sales team and make proper intervention
Qualification:
- BA Degree in Sales & Marketing Management field of study
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in FMCG.
