DUTIES & Responsibility 

1. Reads circuit diagrams & blueprints to determine locations of equipment and conformance to building and safety codes;
2. Senior Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, fuse boxes and other elements of the power supply system using hand tools; installing, services and repairs electronic equipment such as television sets, video studio equipment, intercom systems and electronic control systems; reading circuit diagrams & blueprints to determine locations of equipment and conformance to building and safety codes; measuring, cutting and installing conduit in specified panels using hand tools;
3. Measures, cuts and installs conduit in specified panels using hand tools; 
4. Measures for location of receptacles with tape measure and installs receptacles; 
5. Ensures the connection of wires according to diagrams to install fixtures such as switches, light fixtures and fuse boxes; 
6. Monitors and tests continuity of circuits to ensure safety & smooth workflow using ohmmeter; 
7. Diagnoses, locates and repairs electrical faults of the power supply system, electrical appliances and electronic equipment; 
8. Carries out scheduled maintenance and repair activities using oscilloscope, voltmeter, ohmmeter, vector scopes, waveform monitors and other relevant instruments; 
9. Determines and orders parts required to repair defective equipment;
10. Adapts existing electronic equipment to specialized needs; 
11. Adjusts equipment for most effective operation; 
12. Keeps records of work accomplished including creation and maintenance of systems documentation;
13. Advises and supports entry level workers on electrical system installation and maintenance procedures; 
14. Inspects & tests work during progress and upon completion to ensure that deficiencies are corrected in accordance with the required level of workmanship;
15. Adjusts, repairs and replaces electrical components, machinery and other equipment when found faulty & defective; electrically tests reassembled machinery and/or equipment and makes necessary readjustments until it fits to perfection;
16. Undertakes diagnostic inspection of faulty machinery and/or  equipment to identify defects and takes proper measures accordingly;
17. Performs other job related duties as required by the immediate supervisor.

Education, Training and Experience:

• University/College/TVET (10+4) diploma in Electrical/ Electronic Electro-mechanical Engineering and 4 years related work experience Or TVET (10+3) certificate in Electricity and 6 years related work experience Or TVET (10+2) certificate in Electricity and 8 years related work experience
