Job description

 A Marketing Manager for coffee export, focusing on both green and roasted coffee, will develop and execute international marketing strategies, manage relationships with buyers, and drive brand awareness. This role requires strong understanding of coffee, marketing, and international trade regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement international marketing strategies:

This includes identifying new market opportunities, particularly in regions like Europe, the US, Asia, and the Middle East. 

  • Build and maintain relationships:

Cultivating strong connections with international buyers, roasters, and distributors is crucial for securing and expanding market share. 

  • Manage pricing strategies:
  • Analyzing data from the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) and global market trends to determine competitive pricing. 
  • Coordinate export logistics:

Working closely with export documentation and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of coffee shipments. 

  • Represent the company:

Participating in trade shows and promotional events to showcase the company's coffee offerings and build brand recognition. 

  • Monitor market conditions:

Staying informed about competitor activities and market shifts to adapt sales strategies accordingly. 

  • Customer engagement and satisfaction:

Developing and implementing strategies to enhance customer experience and loyalty, especially in international markets. 

  • Brand management:

Ensuring consistent brand messaging and across all marketing channels. 

  • Sales strategy development:

Creating and executing strategies to acquire new customers and retain existing ones. 

  • Market research:

Conducting research to identify new customer segments and understand market demands. 

  • Budget management:

Managing marketing budgets effectively to maximize return on investment. 

  • Team leadership:

Leading and mentoring a marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. 

Qualifications:

  • Education:

A bachelor's degree in Marketing, International Business, Agribusiness, or a related field. 

  • Experience:

Significant experience in coffee export or agricultural commodities marketing, preferably with a focus on international markets. 3-4 year 

  • Knowledge:

Strong understanding of international trade regulations, INCOTERMS, and Letter of Credit (LC) procedures. 

  • Skills:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly in English (proficiency in other languages like French or Arabic is a plus). 

  • Technical skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems. 

  • Passion for coffee:

A genuine interest in the coffee industry, including knowledge of coffee production processes and quality standards. 

  • Analytical skills:

Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and develop data-driven strategies. 

  • Leadership and communication skills:

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team and build relationships with stakeholders.
