Duties and responsibilities
- Music teacher is responsible for teaching pupils instrumental techniques, scales, sight reading, and music theory. Help students prepare for music examinations, auditions, and live performances.
- Music teacher instruct students in practical methods and theory of general music, singing, as well as playing musical instruments.
- Follow the guidelines as set out by the education department which includes the theory and practice of general music, singing and playing musical instruments. Prepare students for exams in music.
- Create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of music.
- should be skilled in playing musical instruments, planning concerts for student participation, and creating after school music clubs.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching general styles of music.
- Teaching musical instruments like piano, guitar, and violin
- Teaching singing to students from beginner to advanced level.
- Incorporating musical instruments and movement in lessons.
- Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.
- Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
- Preparing students for practical and exams.
- Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after school music clubs.
- Building relationships and mentoring students.
- Helping students understand and read music notes and scales
- Training students for events, private musical performances, and concerts
- Gathering the required teaching materials
- Assessing students’ performance and giving private lessons
- Coaching students on voice modulation and tempo
- Explaining different styles and genres of music
- Conducting music theory and practical examinations
- Helping students tap on their potential
- Suggesting additions and improvements in the curriculum
- Coordinating with staff members in organizing extracurricular activities
- Maintaining and encouraging a fun and positive atmosphere in the music class
Person Specification:
Qualification Criteria
- Diploma in music from a recognized University/College
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience.
