JOB SUMMARY

• Undertakes quality control tests on ingredients, products and packing materials to determine whether they are in appropriate quality and food safety

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

• Carries out quality control activities on raw materials, packing materials, other inputs, intermediate and final production accordance with standard procedures to ensure that products are of the required quality.

• Gathers samples of Raw material, intermediate product, finished product, outgoing finished products and packing material and retain sample if necessary

• Follow up chemical required for quality control activities are adequately fulfilled in a timely manner.

• Ensure packaging to minimize defects from inadequate protection during packaging, storage & loading
• Ensure that Packaging is sound and any dates are correct.

• Follows up the sanitation of machinery, production facilities and accessories.

• Ensure that Labelling & date coding are within the requirement

• Follows up the timely calibration of laboratory equipment and devices.

• Take measures and reports on process and quality non conformities.

• Ensures that the stacking of materials meet the required standard.

• Participates in workers skill upgrading programs.

• Complete check sheets for CRQS, summarizing checks carried out and the results.

• Prepares and submits periodic performance reports. 

• Using and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments
• Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met6u

• Performs other related duties as required

• Complete required training programs in a timely manner
• Have understanding and knowledge of the HCFM including:
• Food safety management system Policy
• Food safety management system objective set and contribute on its fulfilment

• Food safety Management System Corrective Action Program

• Perform designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions

• Follow up PRPs are implemented, Monitoured and communicated to the appropriate parties 

• Monitors, in cooperation with all those concerned, the Food Safety Management System of the Company.

• Understand the Food safety hazards and participate on the prevention or reduction of these Food safety Hazard

• Monitor the Implementation of sanitary and hygiene conditions during production and packing of oil.

• Participate in Implementation, documentation, maintenance  and continual improvement of the Food safety Management System (ISO 22000:2018). 

Environmental Management system

• Complete required training programs in a timely manner
• Have understanding and knowledge of the HCFM including:
• Environmental Management System Policy
• Significant Environmental Aspects
• Environmental Management System objective set and contribute on its fulfilment
• Environmental Management System Internal Audits

• Environmental Management System Corrective Action Program

• Notify Manager of any environmental aspects not documented
• Perform designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions

• Use R rules (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, etc) to avoid or minimize discharges to water, emissions to air and disposal to land.

• Participate in sustainable use of the natural resources such as water, raw materials, energy and other resources. And also, accurately measure and monitor consumption (usage and waste performances) of key utilities and natural resources that follows recognized protocols or standards.

• Participate in Implementation, documentation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015). 

• Understands the environmental aspects and impacts and participate on prevention or reduction of these environmental impacts.

• Understand chemicals used and control them as per their material safety data sheet, legal and client requirements. Also properly handle and manage hazardous materials and wastes.

• Collaborate in proper use of the natural resources such as water, raw materials, energy and other resources. 

OH and S Management system

• Maintaining a safe work environment in accordance with company Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

• Maintain Safe, Healthy and Risk-Free Working Environment on Shift basis

• Assisting in the on-going maintenance of a safe workplace through involvement in the implementation of safe systems of work in accordance with company Occupational Health Safety Policies and Procedures

• Participating in mandatory Health and Safety training sessions

• Identifying and reporting hazards in the workplace

• Record, document and maintain the records as per the OH&S Management System (ISO 45001:2018) requirements

COMPETENCIES: -            

Knowledge and Experience Required

• BSC in Applied Chemistry/Industrial chemistry or another relevant field
• At least 2years of relevant work experience, 
• knowledge of the processes involved
•  Good knowledge of ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 45001and GMP
• Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment, facilities and chemicals
• Ability to analyze data
• A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
• Thorough understanding of company quality specifications and manuals.
