We are looking for a full time Dairy Farm Manager to work on our farm near Debre Birhan. The manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the farm including farming operations, staff and animal care. He/She plan and direct all milking phases on the farm while ensuring animal health and safety. Our ideal applicant would have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Farm Manager role, take pride in shed management & milk quality, enjoy milking and working with our gorgeous cows, work well as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Perform daily care for dairy animals including feeding schedules, herd management, and feed supply. 
•  Plan and direct all milking phases on the farm and implement processes as required 
•  Identify, develop, implement and evaluate strategies and potential opportunities for dairy development to enhance productivity, profitability, and sustainability.
• Oversee milking operations and schedule  Upkeep facilities, grounds and equipment 
•  Assign staff roles and responsibilities, supervise and mentor farm staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety and operational standards. 
•  Treat and care for sick animals 
• Assist with the breeding of dairy livestock and their births 
•  Prepare farm budgets that balance production and costs 
•  Ensure that farm vehicles and equipment are well maintained 
•  Train new employees on feeding, handling and other duties 
•  Order feed, supplies and equipment for the farm, herd and employees 
•  Discuss and communicate the needs and problems effectively with staff, higher officials and Owners  Manage budgets, financial reports, and operational expenses. 
•  Work with outside contractors, farm advisers and veterinarians 
•  Monitor herd health as per given technical training to maintain Quality of the production and Herd health. 
•  Ensure the dairy farm follows all compliance with local agricultural laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards. 
•  Stay updated on new farm technologies and dairy practices 
•  Keep thorough records of vaccinations, illness, medications, breeding, etc. 
•  Organizes and coordinate milk mapping in the collection areas. 
•  Organizes and coordinates farm milk quality control and milk quality assurance at all levels from farms to milk collection center (logistics) 
•  Identifies and coordinates the training programs for Delivery staff to adapt developed milk collection methods and systems of milk QC/QA
