Gym Manager
Planet Fitness & Spa is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Gym Manager to oversee all aspects of the gym operations, ensuring an exceptional experience for clients and staff alike. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to maintain the gym reputation for excellence. The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas to enhance client satisfaction, employee morale, and overall gym performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily gym activities, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor and ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired, and functional at all times.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures for optimal performance.
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of staff, including trainers, administrative personnel, and maintenance staff.
- Develop and coordinate work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and effective delivery of services.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and setting clear goals.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and high morale.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client concerns, resolving conflicts effectively and promptly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
- Develop and implement innovative client engagement strategies, including reward programs, group activities, and gym challenges.
- Respond to client feedback and complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
- Plan and manage a dynamic and diverse schedule of gym training classes, ensuring a balance of offerings to suit all clients
- Coordinate with instructors and trainers to deliver high-quality programs and ensure consistency.
- Introduce new gym trends, programs, and events to keep the center competitive and engaging.
- Implement innovative strategies to attract and retain clients, focusing on long-term customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Track membership and revenue growth, setting and achieving financial targets
- Keep statistical and financial records
- Ensure the gym complies with all legal, safety, and health regulations.
- Regularly review and update safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Represent Planet Fitness & Spa at community events to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote programs and services, driving membership growth.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, fostering loyalty and trust among clients.
- Handle any unforeseen challenges or emergencies with professionalism.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the fitness center.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- BA Degree in Sport science and management
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in management, preferably within the fitness or wellness industry.
- Proficiency in English and Amharic (additional languages are an asset).
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of fitness industry trends and equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Compensation and Benefits:
