Job Summary

Addis Ababa Silk Road General Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Infectious Disease Sub Specialist to join our medical team on a part-time basis. The specialist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing infectious diseases, providing expert consultation to other medical departments, and ensuring high standards of patient care and infection control within the hospital.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with infectious and communicable diseases.
• Provide expert consultation to other physicians and departments regarding infection related cases.
• Develop and implement infection prevention and control protocols across the hospital.
• Monitor and manage hospital acquired infections and antibiotic use.
• Conduct patient follow ups and ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical meetings, and staff training sessions.
• Stay up to date with emerging infectious diseases, treatment guidelines, and research.
• Support public health initiatives and outbreak response when necessary.

Minimum Specification Requirement

Educational Qualification & Work Experience

• Graduated from accredited  University /Medical college
• Specialty in Infectious Diseases
• No Prior professional experience required.
• Valid professional license and registration

Knowledge & Skill requirements

• Medical Degree (MD) with specialization in Infectious Diseases from a recognized institution.
• Valid professional license to practice medicine in Ethiopia.
• Proven clinical experience in diagnosing and managing infectious and communicable diseases.
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and antimicrobial stewardship.
• Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and staff consultation.
• Commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards. 
• Have computer skills. 
• The ability to offer emotional support to parents, guardians, and family members.
• The ability to work in a team.
• Language: Fluent in English (oral & written)
