The Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing high-impact projects such as exhibitions, conferences, B2B meetings, and design-focused forums within the Chemical industry. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the chemical industry. This role demands strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver successful and financially viable events that position Fintex as a leading platform in East Africa.
Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop project documentation including concept notes, brochures, exhibitor manuals, themes, and technical session outlines.
  • Research industry trends across sectors such as furniture design, interior fit-out, lighting, finishing materials, and related technologies in the chemical industry.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders:  associations, NGOs, research institutions, and corporate partners.
  • Design event layouts, prepare event programming, and coordinate keynote speakers, moderators, and technical sessions.
  • Support marketing and sales teams in preparing sponsorship packages and exhibitor proposals.
  • Collaborate with communications officers to produce social media content, articles, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Oversee on-site execution, including booth construction, product displays, and safety protocols.
  • Lead the design and production of sector-specific publications 
  • Conduct performance reviews and prepare reports for internal and partner organizations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Chemical Industry, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project management or event coordination within the sector.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the chemical and related supply chains.
  • Proficiency in project software and MS Office.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (English required, local language preferred).
  • Strong stakeholder management and team leadership abilities.
  • Creative thinking, proactive problem-solving, and strong time management.
  • Familiarity with environmental and safety standards for events and installations.

Administrative and Financial Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Provide weekly and monthly activity reports.
  • Lead project assistant activities and coordinate across internal departments.
  • Ensure timely resolution of stakeholder queries and support high client satisfaction.
