Summary of the Position

The Senior Network expert is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of the organization to ensure maximum uptime for users in a company. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems.  A Senior Network Engineer performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, setup and configure complex switching environments 
• Implement security measures to protect data and infrastructure 
• Configuring and installing client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems. 
• Lead the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN environments. 
• Define and enforce network governance, design standards, and security best practices across business units and data centers. 
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking 
• Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc. 
• Manage and optimize firewall policies, VPN configurations, IPS/IDS, DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.) and remote access infrastructure 
• Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications 
• Configure and setup Cisco Firewalls, FortiGate Firewall, Palo Alto firewall, Check point firewall 
• IP phone configuration 
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices 
• Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support 
• Maintaining Detailed Documentation and Following a prescribed Configuration 

Management Process 

• Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives. 
• Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services. 
• Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards. 
• Lead pre-sales engineering activities, including technical presentations, demonstrations, and proposal development for network hardware and software solutions. 
• Design and implement robust network infrastructure solutions tailored to meet organizational needs, encompassing hardware and software specifications. 
• Install and configure network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other related equipment. 
• Maintaining multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance with both private and public facilities 
• Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades.  
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans 
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, PCIDSS etc) 
• Communicate with users when needed and as requested by the supervisor 
• Conduct regular network maintenance, including software and hardware updates, to ensure system stability and efficiency. 
• Document network configurations, processes, and procedures, adhering to best practices for maintainability and troubleshooting. 
• Troubleshoot complex network issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance. 
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to implement and maintain robust network security measures. 
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior network engineers, fostering team growth and knowledge sharing. 
• Pre-sales technical and strategic activities and implementing a network infrastructure based on organizational requirements 
• Develop comprehensive technical bid responses for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company strategy. 

Qualification Requirements: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• At least 5 years of direct experience for B.Sc. and 3 years for M.Sc. supplemented with relevant industry-standard certifications such as Cisco’s (CCNA, CCNP), Huawei’s (HCIA, HCIP, or Fortinet NSE 7/8 ) is a must. 
• Deep knowledge of routing & switching (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), network security, SDWAN, and wireless technologies. 
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), load balancers, and NAC solutions.
• Cloud networking knowledge (Azure Networking, AWS VPC/Subnetting, NSGs, VPN/ExpressRoute, Transit Gateway). 
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
