Sales Officer – Sokokuu Pan African Marketplace

Duty station: Addis Ababa

About the Position

We are seeking ambitious and results-driven Sales Officers to support the growth of the Sokokuu Pan-African Marketplace in Ethiopia. The role focuses on onboarding and supporting MSMEs, connecting local businesses to new markets across Africa through a digital trade platform.

Sales Officers will engage vendors, promote platform adoption, and help businesses maximize sales and cross-border trade opportunities under the AfCFTA. The role places strong emphasis on empowering youth- and women-led enterprises and strengthening intra- and inter-African trade.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about sales, marketing, and business development who are motivated by impact-driven work that supports entrepreneurship and economic growth in Africa. This is a full-time position.

Qualification and Experience 

• A diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management, International Trade, or a related field
• At least 5 years of proven experience in sales, marketing, business development, or e-commerce

Competencies & Skills required 

• Proven experience in sales, marketing, business development, or e-commerce
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-driven, with the ability to work independently and meet targets
• Passion for digital platforms, entrepreneurship, and African development, including intra- and inter-African trade
• Proficiency in ICT tools and willingness to learn and apply digital marketing strategies
• Solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
• Alignment with Sokokuu’s mission to promote digital trade and economic growth across Africa
• A professional appearance and ability to cope with rejection
