The Opportunity

The post holder will be responsible to the day to day community screening, Family MUAC implementation, establishing and conducting discussion with Mother-to-Mother/Father-to-Father support groups, IYCF-E sessions, implementation of outreach EPI, health education and management of Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) in TSFP, out-patient therapeutic (OTP) and in-patient care of SAM case management, and follow-up services to target beneficiaries through ensuring adherence to national and international CMAM case management protocols.

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) 

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
 
  • Education BSc/Diploma in nursing, public health, nutrition related fields
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience for BSc degree with similar position, and with valid registration/practicing license and experience in health and nutrition programs

Qualifications/Experience Desirable;

  • Work experience in Health Service Extension Program is an asset.
  • Familiarity with integrated health and nutrition activity in Emergency Settings
  • In depth knowledge and experience, in community mobilization, nutritional screening health and nutrition promotion, MIYCN and IYCF-E implementation.
  • FAMILY MUAC approach experience is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments and Cross-cultural Awareness
  • Ability to work within a team structure, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources

Languages Required

  • Excellent English, Afaan Oromoo and Amharic verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge of local language (Afaan Oromoo) is Mandatory
