Job Summary

The Senior Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager/CFO in leading the financial operations of a healthcare share company. This role involves advanced financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and supervision of finance staff, ensuring financial transparency, efficiency, and alignment with healthcare regulations and shareholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards and company law
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for hospital and healthcare departments
  • Monitor and control healthcare operating costs, including medical supplies, and equipment
  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, patient billing, and insurance reimbursement processes
  • Support cash flow management, banking relations, and treasury functions
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, tax laws, and share company governance requirements
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, including statutory and regulatory audits
  • Prepare detailed financial analysis and reports for senior management, board members, and shareholders
  • Assist in capital investment evaluation, expansion projects, and financial planning
  • Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and financial policies
  • Mentor and supervise junior finance and accounting staff 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • 5–8 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare share company.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and corporate governance
  • Experience with healthcare financial systems, ERP/HMS, and insurance billing
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced financial analysis and reporting skills
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel
  • Proficiency in IFRS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with boards, shareholders, and regulatory bodies
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance schemes, and tax compliance
