The Opportunity

The position holder (TSFP Nurse) leads the Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP) implementation for Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) treatment targeting children 6-59 months and pregnant/lactating women (PLW) across targeted woredas' Food Distribution Points (FDPs)/Centers. S/he oversees WFP-TSFP project compliance through accurate screening/admission/discharge procedures, timely CPDR reporting via Partner Connect by 10th/20th deadlines, delivery of SBCC/IYCF-E sessions with HEWs/HDAs, coordination with woreda health offices/FMOH, FDA supervision for quality distributions, strict adherence to FMOH IMAM protocols, and Plan International GIK SOP for RUSF/CSB++ commodity management. The role drives achievement of programme targets: >75% recovery rate, <15% defaulter rate, <3% death rate, and >85% MAM coverage per SPHERE/WFP standards

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) 

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
  • Education: HO/Public health, Bsc Nursing Degree from a recognized University/health college and related field.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with INGO/NGO of Infant and young Child Feeding practices /treatment of malnourished children in nutrition program (TSFP) implementation – case definition and care, clinical management, TSFP management, data collection and compilation, working with counterpart for lasting intervention, training of health workers, etc

Qualifications/ experience desirable:

  • Extremely flexible, able to work independently, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.

  • Ability to work and create the partnership with key government and peer partner and stakeholders

  • Ability to produce quality TSFP-Report (CPDR-Offline and Online)

Languages required:

  • Excellent English verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge of local language (Afaan Oromoo) is mandatory
