Job Summary

FEAPD is seeking a Professional Assistant to provide direct administrative and organizational support to the Executive Director. This role is central to ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and advancing FEAPD’s mission. The Professional Assistant will serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Director, helping manage daily

priorities, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring accessibility in all aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Executive Director’s calendar, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Draft correspondence, prepare reports, and maintain confidential records.
  • Coordinate communication with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and member associations.
  • Organize board meetings, workshops, and advocacy events; prepare agendas and minutes.
  • Support program monitoring, grant management, and advocacy initiatives led by FEAPD.
  • Ensure that communication and documentation are accessible to persons with disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MA) in Development Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Special Needs Education and other related fields,
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic (both written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accessible technology tools.
  • Experience in NGO, advocacy, or disability rights organizations preferred.
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and the rights of persons with disabilities.
  • Computer skills, including fast and accurate typing in English and Amharic, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other applications.
