Job Purpose

The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the mall. This role involves supervising cleaning operations in all public and common areas, proactively addressing hygiene issues, and maintaining toilets and sanitation facilities in a safe, functional, and hygienic condition in compliance with mall standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Cleaning & Hygiene Supervision

• Oversee cleaning operations across all areas, including:
  • Toilets and washrooms
  • Common areas and corridors
  • Lobby and entrance areas
  • Stairs, handrails, and escalator surroundings
  • Windows, doors, and glass surfaces
• Conduct regular inspections and spot checks to ensure compliance with cleaning procedures and schedules.
• Identify and resolve hygiene issues promptly through corrective actions.

2. Toilet & Sanitary Facilities Management

• Ensure toilets and washrooms are hygienic, odor-free, well-stocked, and fully operational.
• Monitor sanitary fixtures and fittings (WCs, valves, taps, water supply systems).
• Report and follow up on plumbing issues such as leaks, blockages, or broken fixtures.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.

3. Team Supervision & Leadership

• Supervise cleaning staff and outsourced personnel.
• Assign daily tasks and duty rosters for effective workforce deployment.
• Provide guidance, training, and performance monitoring.
• Enforce discipline, safety rules, and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Foster teamwork and a service-oriented mindset.

4. Inventory & Materials Control

• Manage cleaning materials, tools, and sanitary supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of consumables and monitor stock levels.
• Ensure timely replenishment and cost-effective use of resources.

5. Compliance, Safety & Reporting

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Oversee safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Prepare and submit reports on cleaning performance, hygiene issues, and material consumption.
• Support audits and inspections related to cleanliness and hygiene.

Qualifications & Education

• Level IV Technical/Vocational qualification in Hygiene, Sanitation, Facility Management, or Supervisory Studies
• OR Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health, Facility Management, Management, or related discipline

Experience & Skills

• Proven supervisory experience in cleaning, hygiene, or facility services
• Strong knowledge of cleaning standards and sanitation requirements
• Ability to identify hygiene risks and resolve issues promptly
• Leadership, team management, and communication skills
• Basic understanding of plumbing systems
• Inventory management and reporting skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
