JOB SUMMARY 

The position holder shall be in charge of technical quality implementation and delivery of the mobile health and Nutrition services in the assigned Woreda. 

She/he will mainly be responsible for the day to day implementation of outreach EPI, health education, and screening, OTP, as per the guideline of mobile health and Nutrition teams. In addition, the position holder is also expected to provide supervision, technical assistance and capacity building to health extension workers and Health workers in health facilities. She/he will be responsible for the daily implementation of mobile health and Nutrition services package as per the standard, supporting health facilities assigned as integrated mobile health & Nutrition modality and daily dispensary and drug supply management. He will also be responsible for day to day documentation, people provided for health education, vaccinated children, screened children and mothers, children admitted to OTP, and all provided services accordingly and compile weekly and monthly reports and share with Field office health response coordinator and Woreda health offices.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Improving basic preventive health care at community level with emphasis health, immunization, health and nutrition services

  • Strengthening of linkages and coordination mechanisms between community and the Woreda health bureaus

  • Strengthening of early referrals mechanism.

  • Provide outpatient clinical services for common illnesses, including malaria, ARI, diarrheal diseases, skin infections, and other priority conditions.

  • Deliver maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) services, including ANC, PNC, and identification/referral of obstetric and neonatal complications.

  • Support nutrition services, including screening (MUAC), referral, and management of uncomplicated cases as per protocol.

  • Provide SRH services in line with MISP where applicable, including family planning counseling and STI management.

  • Identify, stabilize, and refer severe cases to higher-level facilities using established referral pathways.

  • Support rapid response to disease outbreaks and public health emergencies.

  • Ensure early detection, reporting, and management of epidemic-prone diseases in collaboration with surveillance teams.

  • Ensure strict adherence to IPC protocols, including proper use of PPE, hand hygiene, and waste management at MHNT site and MHNT members.

  • Promote safe clinical practices to protect patients, staff, and communities.

  • Provide on-the-job mentoring and technical support to nurses, health officers, CHWs, and nutrition staff within the MHNT.

  • Work closely with health facility staff, local health authorities, and community leaders to ensure service continuity and acceptance.

  • Participate in community sensitization and health promotion activities.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient data, service statistics, and referrals.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports in line with project and MoH requirements.

  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.

  • Ensure rational use of medicines and medical supplies.

  • Report stock levels and prevent stock-outs or wastage of essential commodities.

  • College Diploma/Degree in Nursing and public Health with valid registration/practicing license.
  • At least Four years for Diploma & Two years for degree holder post experience in the field out of which one year NGO experience in the field.
  • Experienced in nutrition and health program implementation –data collection and compilation, working with counterpart for lasting intervention, training of health workers, etc.
  • Good written and spoken ability of the local language (Somali Language is mandatory)
  • Extremely flexible, able to work independently, and can cope with stressful situations and frustrations. 
  • Interest in and ability to work in team.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work in remote and potentially insecure environments.
