MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS

Position Summary: To provide the best service for the patient, and to assist the nurses in providing quality nursing care and other stock management works.

Ensures:

     Does:

• Assist the nurses in providing Patient care with knowledge, skill and according to the hospital policy and protocol.

• Prioritize patient care and provide accordingly.

• Helping the nurse in taking Vital signs.

• Provide physical support to assist patients to perform dally living activities, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, and standing, walking, or exercising.

• Assist patients with daily activities. Lift or assist others to lift patients to move them on or off beds, examination tables, surgical tables, or stretchers.

• Review patients' dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure patient receives appropriate diet.

• Help patients in selecting food daily.

• Feed patients or assist patients to eat or drink.

• Measure and record food and liquid intake or urinary and fecal output, reporting changes to the nurse.

• Assess physical conditions of patients to aid in diagnosis or treatment. Document or otherwise report observations of patient behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to registered nurses.

• Supply, collect, or empty bedpans.

• Wash, groom, shave, or drape patients to prepare them for surgery, treatment, or examination.

• Give physiotherapy for patients while they are on prone position.

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, examination rooms, or other patient areas.

• Managing Stock medical or patient care supplies.

• Adjust positions of patients on beds or tables. Communicate with patients to ascertain feelings or need for assistance or social and emotional support.

• Adheres to Infection-control protocols.

• Maintains a safe and clean working environment in compliance with healthcare procedures and regulations.

• Prepares patients and assists with patient examinations and therapies.

• Move patients to or from treatment areas.

• Develop good communication with your patient.

• Inform the patient clearly about the care you are going to give.

• Document your every activity to the patient.

• Prepare medical instruments or equipment for use

• Assist practitioners to perform medical procedures. Collect specimens, such as urine, feces, or sputum.

• Transport specimens, laboratory items, or pharmacy Items, ensuring proper documentation and delivery to authorized personnel.

• Keep functionality and durability of materials needed for patient care.

Required Knowledge

• BSC/Diploma in Nursing from an approved nursing institution.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) from the country of origin.
  • Certificate on BLS and ACLS training. 
  • Have good communication skill. 
  • Have some computer skills.
  • Have the knowledge of the nursing profession.
  • Have good observation skill.
  • Language: Fluent in English (oral & written).
