We are expanding our quality assurance team and are looking for a motivated individual to join our state-of-the-art laboratory.

2. Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Junior Export Coffee Laboratory Technician to support our quality control and export certification processes. The successful candidate will be required to conduct essential physical, sensory, and analytical tests on green and roasted coffee samples to ensure they meet stringent international export standards and client specifications.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare green and roasted coffee samples for analysis.

• Perform standard laboratory tests including but not limited to: moisture content analysis, bean density, screen sizing, and defect classification.

• Assist in sensory evaluation (cupping) sessions by preparing samples, recording scores, and maintaining the cupping area.

• Accurately record, compile, and input test data into laboratory information systems.

• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as per schedule.

• Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.

• Support in the preparation of documentation and certificates of analysis for export shipments.

• Assist in general laboratory upkeep and inventory management of chemicals and supplies.

Qualifications and Requirements

• BSc/Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture (with a focus on coffee/horticulture) or a related field.

• Certified in the field from nationally accredited institutions and A minimum of 1 year of practical work experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the coffee, food processing, or beverage industry.

• Basic understanding of green coffee quality parameters and defects is a strong advantage.

• Ability to perform precise, repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Good numerical and record-keeping skills.

• Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office).

• Strong communication skills in Amharic; working knowledge of English is required.

• A team player with a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
