Agronomist
General Purpose of the Job: The Agronomist is responsible for conducting soil and plant analysis, developing tailored crop management strategies, making recommendations on crop varieties, fertilizers, and pest control, and collaborating with farmers and other stakeholders
Duties and responsibilities
Conduct soil and plant analysis to assess nutrient levels, pH, and overall soil health.
·Develop comprehensive crop management plans, including recommendations on optimal crop varieties, planting schedules, fertilizer applications, and pest/disease control measures.
·Provide technical expertise and training to farmers on the implementation of best practices in agronomy to improve yields and sustainability.
·Monitor crop performance and make timely adjustments to management strategies based on field observations and data analysis.
·Collaborate with farm managers, agricultural extension services, and other stakeholders to address challenges and identify opportunities for improving crop production.
Job Requirements
Qualification: Level 3; level 4 or BSc in Plant Sciences, Horticulture, Plant Production or related field
Experience: 5/3/2years of relevant experience in management of Horticultural crops
