About SafeCare

SafeCare believes that everyone has the right to quality healthcare. However, achieving and sustaining improvements in healthcare quality can be challenging, particularly in resource-constrained settings.

SafeCare addresses this challenge through an internationally accredited framework of healthcare quality standards, a structured stepwise improvement methodology, and a digital platform that enables healthcare facilities to assess, improve, monitor, and demonstrate their quality performance.

Developed through collaboration between PharmAccess, Joint Commission International (JCI), and the Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA), SafeCare provides a practical pathway for healthcare facilities to strengthen quality management, improve patient safety, benchmark performance, and progress towards higher levels of quality and accreditation readiness.

Through the SafeCare Ethiopia Programme, healthcare facilities receive structured support to assess their performance, identify improvement priorities, implement quality improvement initiatives, and demonstrate measurable progress in healthcare quality and patient safety.
