Job Description
• Sell the payment gateway, digital wallet and mobile banking to banks, microfinance institutions, SACCOs, payment companies, merchants and aggregators. • Position each product for the buyer in front of you: the problem it solves, why Pitron over the alternative, and the commercial model that makes it work for both sides. • Propose pricing on merchant discount rate, per transaction fee, subscription or revenue share terms, and present the case to management for approval. • Build and manage your own pipeline, from first meeting through demonstration, proposal, negotiation and signed contract. • Work with the technical team on integration scoping and demonstrations, and follow each customer through to go live and first transactions. • Track live volume and collection on every account you sign, and grow it through new use cases. • Report weekly on pipeline, forecast and what the market is telling us.
Job Requirements
• 3 to 5 years in fintech, mobile money, digital banking or payments, with at least part of it selling or managing customer and merchant relationships. • Working knowledge of the Ethiopian payments landscape: telebirr, M-Pesa, CBE Birr and bank wallets, payment gateways, EthSwitch interoperability and QR payments. • Familiarity with National Bank of Ethiopia directives for payment instrument issuers and payment system operators. • Understanding of how payment businesses earn: merchant discount rates, transaction fees, revenue sharing, settlement and reconciliation. • A record of deals or merchant targets you can state in figures. • Relationships in banks, microfinance institutions, payment companies or merchant networks are a strong advantage. • Bachelor's degree in a business, finance, economics or technology field.
