We are a reputable and growing animal feed manufacturing company committed to producing high-quality livestock feed. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hardworking persons to join our team.
Duty Station: Adama
Position: Senior Accountant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise all accounting and finance operations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with Ethiopian accounting standards, tax laws, VAT, withholding tax, and statutory requirements.
Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Develop and monitor annual budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Prepare production cost reports and analyse manufacturing costs.
Supervise raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory accounting.
Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation with production and warehouse departments.
Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
Liaise with external auditors, banks, tax authorities, and government agencies.
Establish and strengthen internal control systems.
Review and approve payment vouchers, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Monitor working capital and recommend improvements to management.
Prepare financial reports and management dashboards for decision-making.
Train, supervise, and evaluate finance department staff.
Ensure proper implementation and use of ERP/accounting software
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or Chief/Senior Accountant position.
Experience in a manufacturing or animal feed processing company is highly preferred.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Ethiopian tax regulations.
Excellent understanding of manufacturing cost accounting.
Experience with ERP/accounting software.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
High integrity and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
