Finance Manager (Hospitality & Coffee Sector)

Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with 4–5 years of progressive managerial experience to oversee the financial operations across our hospitality and retail coffee enterprise. In this role, you will lead the finance team, optimize inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), track location-level profitability, manage cash flow, and ensure tight financial controls across our outlets, roastery, and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

• Support strategic decision-making with financial insights and projections.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

• Present reports and performance updates to senior management.

• Manage company cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships.

• Oversee payments, collections, and fund transfers.

• Forecast cash requirements and optimize working capital.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.

• Ensure proper bookkeeping, reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Maintain compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).

• Ensure adherence to tax laws, financial regulations, and internal policies.

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.

• Maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.

• Analyze operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Implement effective expense control procedures.

• Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.

• Develop team capabilities through training and performance feedback.

• Identify and assess financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.

• Implement and maintain accounting/ERP systems.

• Streamline financial processes for accuracy and efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with at least 2–3 years in a finance manager role.

• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of Ethiopian tax laws, financial reporting standards, and audit procedures.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
