Job Description
Addis Pride Academy (APA) is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated Kindergarten Principal to provide strong academic and administrative leadership for our kindergarten program. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, holistic child development, effective staff management, and the smooth day-to-day operation of the kindergarten.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Kindergarten Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Management, or a related field.

Experience:
At least 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in kindergarten or early childhood education, preferably including leadership or supervisory experience.
Experience working with children with diverse learning and developmental needs is an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Kindergarten Principal will be responsible for:
Providing effective academic, instructional, and administrative leadership for the kindergarten program.
Developing, implementing, and monitoring school policies, procedures, and academic programs.
Supervising, supporting, and evaluating teachers, teaching assistants, and other kindergarten staff.
Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and play-based early childhood education.
Monitoring children's holistic development through appropriate assessment tools and the Holistic Communication Book.
Promoting a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and child-centered learning environment.
Becoming familiar with inspection requirements and regulatory checklists to maintain high-quality kindergarten education and service standards.
Strengthening the capacity of academic staff through relevant training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
Coordinating annual educational events and activities at the compound level.
Developing, reviewing, and monitoring lesson plans, classroom management, assessment practices, and children's progress.
Conducting regular classroom observations and providing constructive and professional feedback to teachers.
Organizing staff meetings, professional development programs, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
Maintaining effective communication and positive relationships with parents and families.
Working closely with the Special Needs Department, therapists, and support staff to ensure appropriate support for children with diverse learning and developmental needs.
Addressing student, parent, and staff concerns professionally, fairly, and appropriately.
Ensuring compliance with school policies, educational standards, safeguarding requirements, and relevant regulations.
Monitoring student attendance, punctuality, discipline, safeguarding, health, safety, and general welfare.
Preparing accurate academic, administrative, and performance reports for school management.
Supporting admissions, student orientations, school events, parent meetings, and other institutional activities.
Promoting teamwork, professionalism, accountability, effective communication, and continuous improvement throughout the kindergarten.
Taking appropriate action to address academic, behavioral, operational, and staff-related challenges.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of early childhood development, child-centered education, and play-based learning approaches.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and team-management skills
Excellent skills in classroom observation, instructional supervision, staff development, and performance management.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with teachers, parents, therapists, support staff, and school management.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
High professional ethics, integrity, patience, accountability, and commitment to children's safety and well-being.
Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Amharic is an advantage.
Good computer literacy and administrative skills.
