Saint Gabriel Catholic Health Center (SGCHC) is a not-for-profit nongovernmental organization owned by the Ethiopian Catholic Church (ECC-SDCO, A.A.), and run in collaboration with Brothers of Our Lady of Lourdes or Brothers of Good Works in Ethiopia. The mission of SGCHC is to provide holistic, affordable and quality health care to all, in a compassionate and loving environment consistent with the Christian principles on which we are founded on and promoting access to health care to the less privileged and vulnerable social groups, like women and children and the financially destitute.

SGCHC is providing comprehensive health care services to the population of the catchment area and neighboring woredas in line with the government and the Ethiopian Catholic Church health policy. Accordingly, for the successful implementation of the health center project activities, St. Gabriel Catholic Health Centerwould like to invite interested and qualified applicants for the following position.

Job Overview

• Job Title: Laboratory Technician/Technologist

Job Summary

The laboratory technician/technologist will be responsible for the day to day activities at the assigned unit of the health center.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Receives samples and request forms from the patients.

• Performs all laboratory test that are within his/her capacity based on the standard operating procedures, and make sure that the SOPs are always in place.

• Provides laboratory results to the respective department as requested.

• Works in night shift weekends and holiday when required.

• Involve in SLIPTA activities as per he/she is appointed.

• Other related activities should be done when the medical director gives oral and written orders.

Job Requirements

• Education/Training Required: Diploma/Level IV or degree in laboratory from a recognized university or college.

• Experience/Skills Required:

• A minimum of 2 years’ or 1 year proven work experience as a laboratory technician/technology.

• Good verbal and written skills in English.

• Licenses & Certifications: Should have a valid license and COC certificate.
