Job Description

The Laundry Head at Teklehaimanot General Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare operations through the efficient management and processing of all hospital linens, uniforms, and patient garments. This full-time, senior-level position is ideal for experienced laundry professionals looking to advance their careers in the healthcare sector. The Laundry Head will work primarily in the laundry facility, collaborating with housekeeping, nursing, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality hygiene standards and patient comfort through reliable laundry services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, sort, and prepare linens, uniforms, and patient garments for laundering.

• Operate washing, drying, ironing, and folding equipment in accordance with established protocols.

• Maintain and calibrate laundry machinery to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

• Document and report laundry production volumes, linen usage, and any equipment issues in a timely manner.

• Assist in the development of improved laundry techniques and stain-removal methods.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the laundry facility.

• Collaborate with housekeeping, nursing, and administrative staff to meet linen and garment needs.

• Participate in quality control and assurance activities to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies, chemicals, and materials.

• Support the training and onboarding of new laundry staff.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Diploma in Laundry Operations, Hospitality Management, or a related field from a recognized higher educational institution.

• Valid professional certification is mandatory

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a laundry or housekeeping supervisory role, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.

Required Skills:

• Demonstrate creativity in problem-solving and developing new stain-removal and fabric-care techniques.

• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
