Local Procurement Manager

Job Description

• Develop and manage local procurement plans and monitor performance against company objectives.

• Establish, update, and implement procurement policies, procedures, and work instructions.

• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement in line with approved budgets and company policies.

• Lead, supervise, motivate, and develop Local Procurement staff, including recruitment, training, and performance appraisal.

• Analyze procurement performance and recommend improvements to management.

• Evaluate and manage suppliers based on quality, reliability, delivery, and cost.

• Ensure compliance with purchase orders, contracts, legal requirements, and company procedures.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective procurement processes and compliance.

• Resolve supplier non-conformances, claims, and back-charges promptly to minimize company losses.

• Identify and implement improvements to purchasing methods and procedures.

• Prepare and submit regular procurement performance and activity reports to management.

• Maintain a productive work environment and ensure staff understand and comply with workplace policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

BA Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management or related field

At least 8 years of related experience in trading company operation out of which 4 years in management position.

In depth knowledge of local procurement requirements, regulations and procedures,

Effective communication and negotiation skills

Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently

Attention to detail
