Safety Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Safety Officer to support the implementation and monitoring of workplace health and safety practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential workplace hazards, conducting safety inspections, promoting a safe working environment, and ensuring employees comply with applicable health and safety standards and procedures.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and unsafe working conditions.
• Identify, assess, and recommend appropriate measures to control workplace risks.
• Ensure employees follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees.
• Monitor compliance with applicable occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and other relevant documentation.
• Monitor the availability and proper use of fire extinguishers, first-aid supplies, and other emergency safety equipment.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation procedures and safety drills.
• Follow up on identified safety issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

• BSc Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field of study.

Relevant Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.

Certifications

• OSHA certification is preferred.

• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, procedures, and workplace safety practices.
