Key Skills & Competencies

• Sales & persuasion: proven ability to close deals — both with vendors (B2B) and with viewers (B2C).

• On-camera presence: confident, articulate, warm, and quick-thinking under live broadcast pressure.

• Negotiation: comfortable structuring commercial terms that work for both the vendor and the show.

• Product judgment: an eye for quality, market fit, and price positioning.

• Relationship management: able to build long-term trust with manufacturers and repeat-purchase trust with viewers.

• Commercial acumen: understands margins, commission structures, and sales-per-minute economics.

• Composure under pressure: live television leaves no room for retakes.

• Digital fluency: comfortable with e-commerce/order platforms and cross-posting content to social and streaming channels.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Broadcasting, or a related field (equivalent professional experience will be considered).

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in one or more of: retail sales, business development/vendor sourcing, broadcast presenting, or brand spokesperson work.

• Demonstrated on-camera experience (television, radio, livestream, or live events) is strongly preferred; a screen test/on-air audition will form part of the selection process.

• Prior experience negotiating supplier or vendor contracts, or working in procurement/merchandising, is a strong advantage.

• Fluency in Amharic and English required; additional local languages an advantage given EBS TV's national audience.
