Job Description

KADISCO General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Senior Laboratory Technologist to join our Laboratory Department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BSc) in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Laboratory Technology.

• Valid professional license to practice.

• Additional certifications or specialized laboratory training are an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience, preferably in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise laboratory testing in accordance with established standards and procedures.

• Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting of laboratory results.

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers.

• Implement and monitor internal quality control and participate in external quality assurance programs.

• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, infection prevention, and biosafety standards.

• Review and validate laboratory test results before release.

• Maintain proper documentation, inventory, and reagent management.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior laboratory professionals.

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.

• Participate in laboratory quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities.

• Clinical Chemistry

• Hematology

• Microbiology

• Immunology and Serology

• Blood Bank (Transfusion Medicine)

• Molecular Diagnostics (PCR and other molecular techniques)

• Histopathology and Cytology

• Clinical Microscopy

• Quality Management Systems (ISO 15189 or equivalent)

• Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIS/HMIS)

• Operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated laboratory analyzers

• Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assessment (EQA) programs

• Laboratory accreditation, quality improvement, and audit processes

• Mentoring and supervising laboratory staff in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory setting
