About TaYA
TaYA is an Ethiopian, youth-led and youth-focused civil society organization established in 2003 by young volunteers committed to advancing the rights, wellbeing, participation, and development of young people. With more than two decades of experience, TaYA works to contribute to an empowered and resilient generation of young people who inspire positive change towards sustainable development.
TaYA is committed to systems change, youth empowerment, gender equality, social inclusion, and meaningful participation of young people. The organization works with rights holders, duty bearers, gatekeepers, communities, government institutions, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen enabling environments and create sustainable solutions for young people.
TaYA's programming covers sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality and GBV prevention and response, youth leadership and meaningful youth participation, education and skills development, livelihoods and employment, social inclusion, youth-friendly services, peacebuilding, and humanitarian response.
About the SRH Next Alliance program
The SRH Next Alliance Programme seeks to contribute to improved sexual and reproductive health for adolescents and young people by strengthening access to accurate information, youth-responsive services, community engagement, and an enabling environment for the realization of SRH.
The programme recognizes that improving young people's SRH requires more than service provision alone. It requires meaningful youth participation, effective demand creation, peer-to-peer engagement, community dialogue, addressing harmful social and gender norms, strengthening referral pathways, and sustained engagement with duty bearers and other influential stakeholders.
The programme therefore places emphasis on strengthening both demand for SRH information and services and the enabling environment necessary for adolescents and young people to exercise their SRHR.
The Regional Project Officer will play a critical role in translating these programme priorities into effective implementation at regional, zonal, woreda, town, and community levels in Afar Region, Chirfra town.
