Job Summary

Job Responsibilities Summary

Responsible for on-site technical coordination, documentation management, local construction coordination, technical translation, and supporting quality and schedule control for plant infrastructure, civil works, mechanical and electrical installations, and mining support projects, working closely with the Chinese technical team to manage all phases of plant construction.

Job Requirement

Basic mandatory requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mining engineering, materials engineering, industrial engineering, or other related engineering disciplines;

• Possesses five or more years of hands-on experience in construction projects, industrial infrastructure, factory civil works, mechanical and electrical engineering, or mining support projects; candidates with experience in cement plants, building materials factories, or heavy industry infrastructure projects will be given priority.

• Fluent in English communication, capable of proficiently handling cross-cultural team coordination, meeting discussions, technical document reading, on-site instruction delivery, and English report writing, enabling seamless bilingual work.

Additional Job Requirements (Enhanced Project Fit)

• Familiar with local infrastructure construction standards, building codes, material acceptance criteria, and on-site safety management systems in Ethiopia, and understand the operational characteristics of local construction crews;

• Possesses fundamental technical expertise in industrial site civil construction, steel structure, mechanical and electrical installation, site grading, slope engineering, road and pipeline networks, and can assist the Chinese team in managing construction quality, schedule, and on-site technical issues;

• Familiar with basic tasks such as engineering drawings, quantity verification, on-site change orders, acceptance of concealed works, and construction log recording;

• Possesses strong on-site coordination skills, capable of independently liaising with local construction crews, supervisors, and local technical units;

• Understand Ethiopia’s construction site safety, environmental protection, and labor policies, and be able to assist in implementing local compliance management;

• Diligent and reliable, capable of adapting to the high-intensity on-site work during plant construction, and willing to comply with management arrangements for Sino-foreign joint venture projects;

• No adverse professional record, with strong professional ethics, team collaboration spirit, and cross-cultural communication skills, capable of adapting to management models of Chinese, foreign, and joint-venture enterprises
