As we continue to expand our travel management and event services, we are looking for a motivated, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Ticketing Officer to join our team.
Job Summary
The Ticketing Officer will be responsible for managing airline reservations, ticket issuance, re-bookings, cancellations, refunds, and related customer services. The role requires strong knowledge of airline ticketing procedures, GDS systems, fare rules, and travel regulations, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
Book and issue airline tickets using GDS platforms such as Galileo, Travelport, Amadeus, Sabre, or similar systems.
Handle re-bookings, cancellations, refunds, and itinerary changes in accordance with airline policies and procedures.
Ensure accurate fare calculations and ticket issuance.
Provide professional and personalized assistance to clients and respond promptly to travel-related inquiries.
Resolve customer concerns related to flight changes, disruptions, cancellations, and other travel arrangements.
Liaise with airlines, tour operators, and internal departments to confirm reservations and travel arrangements.
Assist the reservation team with accommodation bookings.
Facilitate IATA membership registration.
Maintain accurate records of bookings, cancellations, refunds, and ticket sales.
Prepare periodic reports on ticket sales, customer preferences, and travel trends.
Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant travel regulations.
Promote additional travel services, including hotel accommodation, car rental, travel insurance, and tour packages.
Maintain good working relationships with airline representatives and stay updated on airline policies, promotions, and offers.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in flight ticketing or a similar role in the travel and tourism industry.
IATA certification is required.
Proficiency in Galileo/Travelport, Amadeus, Sabre, or similar GDS systems.
Good knowledge of airline policies, fare rules, and travel regulations.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
High attention to detail and accuracy in ticketing and documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills and a client-focused approach.
Knowledge of local and international travel trends is an advantage.
Multilingual ability is an added advantage.
