Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transport Operation Manager to oversee and optimize our cross-border transport operations between Ethiopia and Djibouti. The successful candidate will ensure efficient fleet management, compliance with regulations, and continuous improvement of logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Oversee vehicle and driver registration, route planning, trip scheduling, and documentation using TIMS and GPS tracking systems.
• Track, analyze, and improve key logistics KPIs including fleet utilization, on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, and maintenance compliance.
• Handle all legal and insurance matters related to vehicle accidents, including coordination with authorities and insurance companies.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian and Djiboutian transport laws, customs, and port procedures.
• Lead, develop, and motivate the transport team to meet operational targets.
• Prepare detailed operational reports and present insights to senior management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in transport/logistics operations, with at least 5 years as an Operations Manager.
• Proficient in TIMS and GPS fleet tracking systems.
• Strong knowledge of transport KPIs and ability to analyze and improve performance.
• Experience managing vehicle accident procedures and insurance claims.
• Familiarity with cross-border transport regulations (Ethiopia-Djibouti).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for reporting and cost analysis.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
