About Us:

Ruftana Trading plc is an established and fast-growing company involved in manufacturing, importing, and exporting goods both locally and internationally. We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team and lead key financial operations in a fast-paced, multi-sector business environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage full accounting cycles, including general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports and statements in line with IFRS and EFRS standards.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, withholding tax, income tax, pension, etc.).
• Handle all financial aspects related to import/export activities, such as LC, TT, and customs clearance cost management.
• Communicate clearly with internal departments (procurement, operations, logistics) and externally with banks, ERCA, auditors, and suppliers.
• Supervise junior accountants and monitor day-to-day accounting tasks.
• Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and year-end audits.
• Participate in the preparation of budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Maintain a well-organized and accurate Peachtree Accounting System, ensuring correct usage of account codes and structure.

Salary for the position is based on the company’s salary scale and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

• BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or professional certification like ACCA/CPA is an asset).
• Minimum of 8 years of work experience in accounting, with at least 4 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in manufacturing and import/export trading companies.
• Excellent knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Software, including: - Chart of accounts setup - Inventory and cost module use - Financial reporting within Peachtree - Tax handling and transaction tracing
• Deep understanding of Ethiopian tax and regulatory frameworks.

• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance teams.
• High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
