The Opportunity 

The position holder will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective fleet and transport operations, as well as inventory and asset management services for Plan International's country programs, by organizational policies, SOPs, and standards. This role also involves managing rental vehicles, PIE vehicles, drivers, vehicle tracking via GPS, assets, stocks, customs clearance, and logistics-related budget utilization, under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain and Administration Manager.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted. 

  • Education at BA Degree level or equivalent study in fields such as Supply Chain Management/Logistics Management/ Business Administration, or a related field of study
  • At least 5 + years of relevant experience in Logistics & Supply Chain management, with at least 3 years on senior-level experience in warehouse, asset, customs clearing, and fleet not necessarily gained in an NGO /INGO .
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving capability;
  • Ability to influence others’ behaviour through effective relationship building; thorough current knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, frameworks, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively in the area of expertise.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across a network
  • Planning and organisation skills on short and long-term frames
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, SAP , FMS, and asset and inventory software
  • Strong technical skills in fleet, asset, and inventory
  • Solutions-oriented, focused on programme outcomes, and attention to detail
  • Customer service oriented
