Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. The cashier will be responsible for handling cash transactions, processing payments, issuing receipts, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be attentive to detail, honest, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Issue receipts, refunds, and change accurately.
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide information about products/services.
• Keep the cashier station clean and organized at all times.
• Follow company policies regarding financial transactions and record-keeping.
• Report any discrepancies or suspicious transactions to management immediately.
• Receives and disburses cash from customers and employees.
• Posts transactions and keeps records appropriately. 
• Counts money to verify amounts received and issues receipts for cash received.
• Posts transactions and balances accounts.
• Receives cash or checks or completes credit-card charge transactions.
• Issues change when receiving excess of bill amount from customers.
• Compares totals on cash register with amount of Birr in register to verify balances.
• Prepares vouchers for every disbursement.
• Compiles collection, disbursement, and bank-reconciliation reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Specification Requirements

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 2 year of experience as a cashier, (experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is an advantage).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• No prior work experience required (must have passed the exit exam).
• Gender: Female

b .Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Have good communication skill
• Have good computer skill
• Have experience good Cash Register Machine.
• The ability to offer emotional support to all Customers
• The ability to work in a team
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Fluent in English (Oral & Written)

Working Conditions

• Working conditions are normal for an office environment. 
• Work will require shift  work.
