Evergreen Early Years School is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Learning to lead the academic vision and daily learning experience for children ages 2–6. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on curriculum leadership, staff coaching, family partnership, and creating a joyful, nurturing environment where children, teachers, and families grow together.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Curriculum Oversight
- Lead the academic wing aligned with the Pearson Early Years curriculum.
- Design and implement weekly and annual learning plans across classrooms with age-appropriate, play-based, inquiry-driven learning.
- Keep curriculum documentation, differentiation strategies, and classroom resources current and aligned with school philosophy.
Team Management & Staff Support
- Supervise and support teachers, learning support, and nannies during school hours.
- Lead planning meetings and daily check-ins; coach educators and identify resource needs for timely procurement.
Lesson Planning & Work-Plan Coordination
- Develop a structured academic work plan with weekly goals, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Review lesson plans and provide actionable feedback.
Parent Communication & Engagement
- Primary point of contact for academic matters beyond the classroom teacher’s scope.
- Lead Parent-Teacher Conferences, curriculum information sessions, and school events.
- Maintain clear communication systems (digital and in-person).
Learning Environment & Daily Operations
- Oversee the school compound during learning hours to ensure a safe, nurturing, and productive atmosphere.
- Coordinate schedules, transitions, and daily routines; liaise between teachers and leadership to flag needs and improvements.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Support creation and implementation of student assessment tools and documentation systems.
- Observe classes, provide feedback, and support teacher performance reviews.
- Lead internal reviews to ensure progress toward learning goals and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- 5+ years of Early Years classroom experience and in academic leadership/coordination.
- Experience with Pearson Early Years or EYFS-aligned frameworks.
- Strength in curriculum design, staff coaching, assessment, and parent communication.
- Fluent professional English.
- High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through; strong safeguarding and inclusion practices.
