Purpose of the Position

The Import Operations Intern (It's Paid Internship) will assist the Dodai team in managing international trade, logistics, and customs clearance processes. In addition, the intern will handle documentation, coordinate shipments, and ensure compliance with import regulations, supporting the seamless and efficient movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and review import documents to ensure compliance with customs requirements.
• Track incoming shipments, update reports, and liaise with suppliers and freight forwarders.
• Assist in clearance processes and help resolve customs issues.
• Maintain accurate import records and assist in preparing shipment and cost reports.
• Take initiative in communication and gain practical experience in customs regulations, international trade, and the full import process.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address their requirements and ensure timely communication of key updates.
• Stay updated on new customs regulations, directives and international trade developments that may impact Dodai’s operations.
• Monitor social media and news from authorities regarding local and international trade, including potential issues affecting Dodai.
• Track and analyze changes in inland and sea freight rates, sea routes and other cost related data for import operations.
• Maintain and update KPIs and raw data used for import operation decision making and performance analysis.
• Assist with all departmental tasks and follow instructions from your supervisor as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in International Business / Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.
• 0 to 1 year experience.
• Keen interest in import/export operations and international trade.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail with a focus on precision.
• Strong communication skills in both English and Amharic.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
