Main Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general supervision and guidance of the Internal Audit  Service Head, the Auditor I,   is responsible for conducting audit to ascertain that income and expenditures of the company are properly recorded and reflected in the books of account of the company; ascertaining adherence to policies and procedures of the company and other applicable government policies, rules and regulations.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Reviews whether the company’s accounting system, cash management, stock control, purchase of goods and services, etc, are in compliance with the policies and procedures of the company and that of the government’s rules and regulations;

  2. Reviews and appraises the soundness, adequacy and effectiveness of the accounting, financial and other operating controls of the company;

  3. Ascertains the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguarded from losses of all kinds;

  4. Assists external auditors in their auditing process by extending documents and the like;

  5. Follows up the adequacy of actions taken to correct the irregularities and discrepancies reported in the previous audit reports;

  6. Follows up that the company’s cash receipts and payment vouchers are pre-numbered and reports timely in case of any discrepancies; 

  7. Recommends operating improvements in accounting, financial and store management; 

  8. Ensures that the performance of the company is in compliance with various legal and administrative policies and procedures of the company in particular and applicable government rules & regulations in general; 

  9. Investigates intended source documents and executes assigned special tasks of auditing;

  10. Studies, evaluates and reports the strength of existing internal control system as may be instructed; 

  11. Advises work units to adhere  to procedures in case of  deviation from same; 

  12. Takes part and performs management audit involving a comprehensive and constructive examination of the company or one of its components such as division or department; 

  13. Participates in annual inventory of the company and reports shortages or overages disclosed at the time of inventory; 

  14. Performs related duties as may be required.

From recognized university/college first degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration/ Business Management and 2 years related work experience
