The Sales Shop Cashier is responsible for processing customer purchases, handling cash and electronic payments, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role ensures smooth daily sales operations and contributes to a positive customer shopping experience.

1. Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Cash Handling & Sales Transactions

  • Process customer purchases using cash registers, POS systems, or mobile payment tools.
  • Receive payments in cash, card, or other approved methods.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and change accurately.
  • Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Report any cash discrepancies immediately to the supervisor.

B. Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer product-related questions and guide customers during purchase decisions.
  • Handle customer complaints and refer unresolved issues to the shop supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cashier station.

C. Store Operations Support

  • Assist in restocking shelves and merchandising products.
  • Help maintain store cleanliness and display arrangements.
  • Participate in daily stock counts where required.
  • Cooperate with security and sales staff to prevent theft and ensure safety.

D. Reporting

  • Prepare daily sales summaries and submit cash reconciliation reports.
  • Support monthly and annual financial reconciliations as needed.

2. Required Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum: Degree / Diploma Accounting ,Accounting & Finance
  • Additional training in accounting, sales, or cashiering is an advantage.

Experience

  • 0/2 year experience as a cashier.
  • Experience working with POS systems and cash registers is an asset.

Skills

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle busy customer flow.
  • Basic computer and POS operation skills.
  • Honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.

Language 

     Speaking Oromigna Language is Mandatory
